Dressing Up Your Halloween Drinks

“Where can a nice ghoul go to get a drink?”  Right here!  Whether it be alcoholic or not (can’t believe I offered an option) I’ve got a couple easy ideas to make your Halloween drinks fun with a few Wilton Halloween products.

I’m not normally a blood n’ guts Halloween enthusiast but I don’t mind a little faux A positive for festive effect especially when it’s sparkly.  It’s just friendlier that way.  I found this over-sized bowl at Kohl’s and thought it would be great as a punch bowl.  I liked how the rim flared out so I could add Wilton’s Blood Red Sparkle Gel to the inside of the punch bowl so guests could see the effect.

I made ghost ice cubes with the 6-Cavity Halloween Silicone Mold.  The shapes include bats with fangs, jack-o-lanterns and the ghosts.  How cute are the ghosts floating around the punch after giving it a quick stir? So fun in a big group or placed in individual glasses.

Do you remember your physics? Me neither but for some reason I can recall it if it pertains to a cocktail.  It kind of goes like this – if you add mass to a liquid the volume will increase and the liquid level will rise.  This is called displacement, but you probably knew this already.  Know what else I know?  When the level decreases or lowers, this is called one happy mama.  I bet you already knew that too.  So remember your physics when adding your liquid and ice in relation to the red gel decoration.  This lesson was brought to you by the letter “C” for “cheers”.

The gel is such a good consistency where you can add it to either inner or outer rims of bowls or glasses and it won’t run.  It’s gel perfection.  Of course, it’s also perfect for cupcake and cookie decoration since that’s what it’s basically made for.  The Sparkle Gel also comes in a variety of colors and even in Pumpkin Spice!

Other fun accents for your Halloween party drink table are the Beaker Party Cups.  I added Spider Black Sparkle Gel to the outer rims.  Perfect for a nice Chianti to accompany your fava bean dip.   “Fffffffff.”

If your looking for a black non-alcoholic libation, there are lots of dark juices available such as black berry, pomegranate and acai.

For a black alcoholic cocktail, I recommend using Blavod which is a black colored vodka.

Here’s a simple recipe for a Black Cosmo:

2/3 Blavod Black Vodka
1/3 Cranberry Juice
Splash of Triple Sec
Ice
Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Strain and pour.

Halloween Cocktail Time!

Question: “What do black Cosmo martinis garnished with sparkly disco dust and a beating heart on a wooden stake have in common”? Answer: “It’s what for dinner come Halloween for me and my ghoul friends”. This year I’m going ghoulie glam with a sparkling rim made with thinned candy coating or white chocolate tinted with icing colors and sprinkled with disco dust. “Ghoulie Pink Sparkle Rim” “Twilight Red Sparkle Rim” I wrote a post on the particulars and challenges of… [Read More]
